Mackenzie Post Digital

Leif Harmsen, Mackenzie Post Digital

Mackenzie Post Digital Residency is an initiative to invite national and international artists and musicians to have an opportunity to create new work while at the residency. We offer a program of events and projects that can employ the technical and production facilities at 4 Mackenzie Crescent, Toronto. The residency is an incubator for the generation of new ideas along with art exhibitions, live internet streaming, an understanding of collaborative projects, and an overarching artistic intent. The mandate is to initiate and support creative multi-media and interdisciplinary work which integrates the technological potential of a 'post-digital' future and the humanistic realities of an embodied and ongoing present moment. Programs have consisted of performance, audio-visual, theatre, poetry, spoken word, and music.   I use Icecast2 to stream "Radio MPD" on the internet, an evolving, repeating audio program that can be interrupted in order to broadcast live events.
