It's not your profile on Facebook. It's Facebook's profile on you.

Facebook is like HAL, worse than useless because it can not be trusted. The anti-Facebook movement is now growing faster than Facebook because Facebook does not belong to us and Facebook is not our friend. Ever more people hate Facebook, calling it "fraudbook", "hatebook" or "wastebook". Did you deactivate Facebook, kill Facebook, delete what it deceptively called "your Facebook" forever? Did Facebook get on our wrong side by abusing your identity with the profile it has on you? Did you commit Facebook suicide? Facebook is like the psychopath computer "HAL" from the movie "2001"; any tool that can't be trusted is worse than useless. The only sensible option is to deactivate Facebook.

Facebook AddictionToo many people suffer a Stockholm Syndrome like Facebook addiction disorder even as they condemn the corporation at satyrical websites like "hatebook.com". Facebook is unaccountable and distorts our discourse with Facebook censorship and Facebook fascism. The following is an analysis of what is so horribly wrong with Facebook and it's elk of psudo-social networking websites. Facebook pretends to be some magically benevolent freindly and impartial platform while in fact it is the anti-social low end of the internet exploitation gutter. Your intuition is right: Facebook is creepy and manipulative. What's worse, it starts with you and your frienemies' identities, claims your communities for itself and unchecked it will warp and control what should be our social circles. It is socially destructive by insideously inserting itself between us, displacing our ability to communicate directly and freely with each other. Facebook censors whatever and whoever it likes with no accountability. If people saw Facebook coming like it saw us coming, everyone would deactiveate facebook. We would all do as Facebook does, not as it asks us to do: we would establish our identities, websites and email address list(s) properly, peer-to-peer, each of us at our OWN domain. Facebook is decidedly undemocratic, dishonest, manipulative and does not allow everyone to be themselves. As such, Facebook is anti-social.

Facebook CensorshipFacebook deemed my oil paintings "inappropriate". They were likely snitched to Facebook as such by the same person who that same day had gone ballistic at my opinion on an completely unrelated news story. If Facebook can casually supress my abstracted figurative oil paintings while pushing in your face pornographic photos advertising "Busty-Babes in Your Area" then nothing of ourselves and our culture is beyond its twisted, hypocritical knife. Facebook requires neither rules nor defence to manipulate its own website because it owns facebook.com and you do not. It was never "my" profile on Facebook in the first place. Facebook lies when it refers to "your profile". Unless you're Mark Zuckerburg, nothing at facebook.com was ever yours and nothing there ever can be. You might say it comes down to semantics and I would agree; fraud always does. Facebook is thereby worse than useless when it comes to anything important to you, me or us; for example: your identity, my art and our political discourse. There is nothing in it for anyone to pander to Facebook's shenanigans by allowing it to infiltrate, hijack, plunder and manipulate what ought to be our own identities and social connections. Facebook, or any such centralized psudosocial website, is not our friend. more ...

If you are not self-possessed, in control of your own faculties and responsible for your own identity, then what's the point in being you?

shut your facebook!

At its best, Facebook is social pornography. It's a glossy fake society that is entirely owned, sanitized and manipulated by one private company. It can only get more sinister from there.

Privately owned 'communities' are not communities.
